Why celebrities love going nude

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian yesterday (Wednesday, March 30, 2016) shared a new nude selfie » with model Emily Ratajkowski. Two weeks ago Kim Kardashian shared another nude selfie that had the world rocking as usual. While the reaction has been high, it is not uncommon for a celebrity to go nude or share a nude photo in this day and age.

A lot of (foreign) celebrities do appear at least nude once in their career. US actress Halle Berry , 49, famously appeared nude in a movie for the first time in the 2001 ‘ Swordfish’ and her career in terms of box office hits took off.

While some might balk at the act of one stripping down to his or her bare essentials, the art of nudity is a big deal in Hollywood. You can call it a passage of rites of sorts in the world of entertainment. Breaking it down properly there are lot of tangible reasons why a celebrity should pull the nude card.

Kim Kardashian was barely known until her sex tape with Ray J came out in 2007. To maintain public interest in her Kim K had religiously made sure that she appears nude regularly. It is her own form of publicity. Every celebrity has his own gimmick. Rap star 50 Cent uses beef to get people talking about him. For Kim Kardashian it is all about nudity. Celebrities just like her will always go nude because that’s
their trick. It guarantees them publicity.

“ Nothing sells more than controversy ” goes a popular saying in entertainment. Flaunting your birthday suit still possesses a strong amount of shock factor to get people talking. Celebrities have been known to pull the nudity move so that they can stir up controversy. And with controversy, public attention is on you. A celeb can now flip that controversy into something very positive. So if you want to be a sex god or sex goddess the fastest way is to strip and show off what your mama gave you. Singer Jason Derulo has been a rising star. In his latest video ‘ Naked’ he makes his female fans bite their lower lips as he strips and shows off his chocolatey ripped physique. Soul singer D’Angelo pulled this move years ago which turned him into a black sex god.

Celebrities go nude when they want to enhance their sex appeal and make it on all the ‘ Top Sexiest ’ lists in Hollywood also.

Believe it or not celebrities show off their body parts for a good cause. PETA which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have recruited many celebrities to show off their naked bodies in support of their cause.The #FreeNipple movement has also involved a lot of female celebrities in sharing photos of them topless as they fight for the right to show their nipples in society and on
social media also.

For some celebrities going nude to them is art. They love showing their bodies because they appreciate it. The art of going nude isn’t still a thing in Nigeria because of societal and religious reasons. While some of our celebrities are embracing the trend it is still going to take a while for us to meet up with global trends.

Strutting your stuff and showing your birthday suit is big business in Hollywood for different reasons. It’s a business. It’s big business.
