There was a time when Nexus phones were seen as affordable alternatives to big name Android flagships, but with the Nexus 6P Google showed that this needn't always be the case, and now with the Pixel XL (a new Nexus in all but name), we have a phone that can truly compete with the top phones around, in every sense including price.
Launched alongside the smaller and cheaper Google Pixel, the Google Pixel XL ticks all the boxes a discerning phone buyer could hope for, including a big QHD screen, a top of the line processor, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner and a premium metal finish.
With specs like that the Pixel XL was always going to be expensive. But just how pricey are we talking? Read on for all the available details on US, UK and Australian pricing.

How much will the Google Pixel XL cost?
The Google Pixel XL comes in two sizes – 32GB or 128GB. The 32GB version costs $769 (£719, about AU$1200) unlocked, and is available direct from Google's store.

If you can't stomach paying the SIM-free price – and we wouldn't blame you – there are ways to spread the cost. For one thing Google itself is offering financing on the Pixel XL. You'll also be able buy the phone on contract, though prices and availability are yet to be confirmed.
If you'd rather head to a physical store than buy online you're in luck, as Google has partnered with Verizon to offer the phone in shops. Deals start at $27.08 a month for two years.

EE is the exclusive network for the Pixel XL in the UK, but there's no word on how much the deals will cost yet.

If you're shopping in Australia you will of course be able to buy the Pixel XL direct from the Google Store, but availability from other shops and mobile networks is yet to be confirmed.
