"Heroes: Back to the Roots": Cultural reality series to kick off soon as Ifeanyi Onyeabor ends rift with Steve James

Ifeanyi Onyeabor ends rift with Steve James

Steve James has attributed the rift between him and Ifeanyi Onyeabor to breakdown of communication.

Cultural reality series, "Heroes: Back to the Roots" will return for its second season as  Ifeanyi Onyeabor has ended rift with his partner, Steve James.

As Nollywood eagerly awaits the release of "Tribe," a film that led to the confinement of filmmaker, Ifeanyi Onyeabo by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2011, his business partner Steve James has attributed their rift to breakdown of communication between him and the director.

Speaking about the incident, James cautioned investors and players in the industry to open channels of proper communication to forestall such ugly incidents.

“I blame the problem on breakdown of communication between us. I was new in the industry and naturally reacted the way someone would react when third parties come to say you're about to lose your  investment," James said.

"Luckily after everything, I discovered that Ifeanyi, actually meant well, and his lawyer and my lawyer sat down and agreed to withdraw the matter from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, though EFCC tried to pursue the matter out of mischief."

Stating that Ifeanyi is not a fraudster, James confirmed that the second edition of their cultural reality TV show, ‘Heroes: Back to the Roots’ will soon kick off.

In 2011, Ifeanyi was arrested for allegedly collecting  N8.8million  from an investor, Steve-James, and failing to produced the movies he was contracted for - "Young Amazon" and "Tribes."

Tribe which had commenced recording in 2010 in Ghana employed the services of actors and crew members from eight African countries and Jamaica after a 3-nation tour for auditions.

Last year during the Extra-Ordinary People’s Awards, in Texas, USA, the movie, clinched four categories, including the ‘Outstanding Film Producer of the Year’, which Onyeabor dedicated to the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

According to the duo, other initiatives from them will be unveiled soon to the entertainment community.
