Pulse Blogger: The Hallelujah Challenge

Hallelujah Challenge

Whether on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even through word of mouth, we have all heard a little or a lot about the Hallelujah Challenge.

Whether on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even through word of mouth, we have all heard a little or a lot about the Hallelujah Challenge. This movement is pioneered by worship minister, Nathaniel Bassey.

Not only does it afford people an opportunity to worship and praise God. There is enough corporate anointing to cover everyone. I mean, it’s one thing to worship God and another to worship God along with other like-minded people with a common vision. The feeling is somewhat indescribable.

There is however a catch, the blessings of God do not come cheap. Not everyone is going to benefit from this movement, but there is definitely something for everyone if you can be disciplined enough to stay awake for a whole hour within the hours of 12 am and 1 am.

I have participated a few times and on those days, when I wake up later in the morning, there is just a different take on my approach to the day. It is definitely a great way to start the day and commit things into the hands of God.

There has been various misguided conversations about how the live feed has become a celebrity hangout. My response to this is that how we perceive this movement is dependent on what we go there for in the first place.

If we go there to see who is there, that’s all we will be able to focus on. So we can see that it is not enough to simply make up our minds to join in the challenge. We ultimately have to have the right mind-set.  The Bible in Hebrews 11: 6 says, ‘But without faith, it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him’.

We have come to worship, we believe He exists but we are still not getting the expected blessings. Why? Because we are not diligently seeking. What then is diligence? It somewhat implies focus. And, if we are focused on seeking God, we won’t have extra eyes to begin to conjure up misplaced theories. Moreover, being a celebrity does not preclude you from still needing Olowogbogboro.

Also, the fact that you cannot access the live feed because of the amount of data involved does not afford you a ready-made excuse to miss out on this movement. I don’t have that much internet, so what do I do? I sing my own songs and worship God by myself with an understanding that my own #justlikethat miracle is on its way.

Whatever you want God to suddenly do for you, it’s very much possible with God Almighty.
