Since starting up earlier this year, Compete has covered the best, worst, most ridiculous, and most fun in esports—we’ve taken gamer drugs and lived to tell about it, tracked down the truth about players duct-taped to ceilings, brought readers news about pros ending their careers for the dumbest possible reasons, held a wild live event at our Manhattan offices, and more. Our new editor will be tasked with keeping things going—running coverage of everything from Street Fighter V and Dota 2 to pinball and Rubik’s Cube—while building out our capacity for aggressive reporting on nonsense and bullshit. Given the involvement of institutions like the NCAA, Valve, and ESPN, there is no shortage of either.
