FK Austria have the option of signing the forward permanently if he impresses during his season-long loan.
Akwa United forward Ibrahim Alhassan has joined FK Austria on a loan deal until the end of the season with an option of a permanent deal.
Alhassan has impressed lately with Akwa United and was part of the Super Eagles Team B that secured qualification to the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
“I am delighted to be part of Austria from now on. I can not wait to get to know the team and work hard together to make even more success with it,” Alhassan told FK Austria’s official website.
Austria Wien’s Sports Director, Franz Wohlfahrt is convinced that the Nigeria will be a success at the club.
“Ibrahim Alhassan Abdullahi is a player with great potential. He is a team player who has speed and good ball handling,” Wohlfahrt said.
The 20-year-old recently made his Super Eagles debut in a friendly against Togo and was part of the Super Eagles Team B that player in the 2018 CHAN qualifiers against the Republic of Benin.
Alhassan played for the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles and was part of the Nigerian team at the 2015 CAF U-20 Championship.
He first played for Wikki Tourists before moving to Akwa United in 2016.
