Oloyede said stakeholders unanimously agreed that the minimum cut off mark for university degree be pegged at 120.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has pegged cut-off marks for admission into universities and polytechnics at 120 and 100 respectively.

The new policy is reportedly the fall out of the policy committee meeting the board had with stakeholders in the education sector on Monday, August 22, in Abuja.

The Board Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede announced the new cut off mark at the meeting.

He said the stakeholders unanimously agreed that the minimum cut off mark for university degree be pegged at 120 while that of Polytechnic is pegged at 100.

Oloyede also announced that 569,395 candidates score over 200 marks in the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams (UTME) out of the 1.7 candidates that wrote the exam.
