We take a look at some of the performances of some Nigerian players in foreign clubs.
In England
We start from the Premier League where Wilfred Ndidi played all 90 minutes in Leicester City’s 1-0 win over Brighton. His club teammates Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa were not listed by Leicester City for the game.
Victor Moses turned in a fantastic performance as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley.
Alex Iwobi was a late substitute for Arsenal but could not prevent a 1-0 loss to Stoke City.
Isaac Success was missing from Watford’s matchday squad for two consecutive games.
In China
Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi played 90 minutes as Tianjin TEDA drew 1-1 away at Liaoning Hongyun who had his compatriot Anthony Ujah in their starting line-up. The former Werder Bremen striker played for 90 minutes.
Odion Ighalo played 90 minutes for Changchun Yatai in their 1-1 draw with visiting 10-man Tianjin Quanjian.
Obafemi Martins played for Shanghai Shenhua in their home 3-0 loss to Guangzhou Evergrande.
In Belgium
Super Eagles defender Uche Agbo had a terrible day on the job as Standard Liege were thrashed 4-0 away at Zulte-Waregem. Agbo played in midfield for this game.
Henry Onyekuru played 90 minutes as Anderlecht lost 3-2 to Sint-Truiden.
In Germany
Nigerian defender Leon Balogun was an unused substitute for Mainz 05 as they lost 1-0 to visiting Hannover.
Victor Osimhen was also on the bench all through as Wolfsburg were soundly beaten 3-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund.
In Spain
Kayode Olarenwaju made his debut for his new club Girona in a 2-2 home draw with Atletico Madrid. The striker came in as a late substitute in the game.
In Portugal
Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo scored his first league goal of the season in Fierense’s 2-1 home win over Pacos de Ferreira in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
His compatriot Dele Alampasu was on the bench for Feirense.
In Turkey
Nigerian player Imoh Ezekiel was a second half substitute for Konyaspor in their 3-0 home win against Genclerbirligi.
