Former Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand is to start training to become a professional boxer. He will be trained by former World Boxing Council super-middleweight champion Richie Woodhall, who said he expects Ferdinand to slot into the cruiserweight division, one below heavyweight. The training will be supported by Betfair for its ‘Defender to Contender’ project.
