HTC U11 Plus gets shown off early in detailed video

Update: The HTC U11 Plus leaks aren't stopping, as we've also now seen an image that seemingly shows the phone in translucent black. You'll find the image below.

We’re likely just a day away from the announcement of the HTC U11 Plus, but it seems someone’s jumped the gun, as a video has shown off the unannounced handset and revealed specs and pricing.

The video, spotted by Reddit users, isn’t in English and we're not certain what language it is but commenters who can speak it claim that it states the HTC U11 Plus will have a 6-inch screen, a battery that’s almost 4,000mAh, water resistance, wireless charging and 128GB of storage.

That's all going to come with a price tag of 849 Swiss Francs, which equates to around $850/£640/AU$1105.

You can also see from the video that the phone has a software rotary dial, which acts as a shortcut to apps, and that it inherits Edge Sense from the standard HTC U11. That’s the name for the squeezable sides which act as a shortcut to apps and functions, and apparently Edge Sense here will be context-sensitive.

The video shows the HTC U11 Plus from all angles, and, well, it looks a lot like the other leaks we’ve seen, and a lot like the standard HTC U11, as it’s got a glossy glass back and larger bezels above and below the screen than many recent flagships.

But there might be one version of the phone that looks quite different, as we've also now seen another leak, this time courtesy of @evleaks, who's posted an image of a 'Translucent Black' model, which appears to show off some of the innards of the phone.

Another phone on the way

Going back to the video, it also shows off the more mid-range HTC U11 Life, which will apparently have a 5.2-inch screen, a polycarbonate back, water resistance, Edge Sense, expandable storage and a 16MP front-facing camera.

This one will apparently cost 349 Swiss Francs (around $350/£260/AU$455) and the specs of both phones match up with what we’ve heard before, so there’s a good chance they’re accurate. We should find out for sure on November 2.
