A female Pastor has announced that she get married for money, not love.
Are Christians to marry for love or money?
This is the question that comes to mind after a shocking announcement from a UK-based female pastor.
In a viral video on Facebook, the unknown preacher can be seen telling her congregation that she is getting married for money, not love.
The pastor adds that she wants to marry a very rich Nigerian man, regardless of how old or ugly he is.
She says, “The other day, I made the decision that I wanna be married and I wanna be married to a Nigerian man.
“Make sure he is rich, I don't care if he is ugly, I don't care if he is fat, I don't care if he is short, make sure he is rich.
“People are marrying because of money, I'm marrying because of money.”
Reactions
This video has attracted a lot of reactions from many who can not believe that a preacher could say something like this.
One writes, “I strongly believe that 70% of Nigeria ladies in this generation will remain single throughout their lifetime. It's not a hate speech but a reality based on the orientations they get these days both from their friends and pulpits. I don’t know what churches are turning into these days. It's now all about money.”
Another says, “See as the so-called pastor is leading ladies astray, lastly it's yahoo boys that will ruin their life, by using them for rituals. What will happen if u encourage ladies to be hard working in other to contribute positively to the family?
“I envy our mothers from the 70s, very industrious and patient. Not like ladies of today, due to materialistic things, ritualists have used their stars.”
One person asks, “Is she a pastor for real? I think she's one of the agents of darkness, ladies pls don't listen to her oooo.”
These are just a few reactions. Still, it is important to note that she got a lot of support, particularly from women.

What does the Bible say about marriage?
Before we crucify or side with her, let us look at what the Bible tells us about the issue of marriage.
Colossians 3:14: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9: “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lies down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?”
Hebrews 13:4: “Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
Now that you have these verses, what do you think? Should Christians get married for love or money?
