Oyo state government has award full scholarship and admission to Technical University, Ibadan to the best students of the state in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Tuesday, November announced the scholarship to the students, Irabor Isabelle Gelegu and Master Adekunle Oluwatoni Adedigba both of who are students of Oritamefa Baptist Model School.

The students have A1 in all their subjects to emerge the best students in the 2017 WASSCE.
However, there was a nationwide poor performance in the 2017 Nov/Dec WASSCE results.
WAEC says 34,664 out of 133,223 candidates that sat for the exam obtained a minimum of five credits including Maths and English. The figure represents 26.01% according to the exam body.
While announcing the release of the result, at the 55th annual meeting of the council’s Nigeria National Committee held in Katsina, the head of the Nigeria National office of the WAEC, Olu Adenipekun said the exam for private candidates was conducted from August 15 to October 4, 2017.
