A private investigator, Victor Uwaje, had accused Senator Uba of forging his WAEC certificate.
Federal High Court sitting in Apo on Friday, June 30, 2017, dismissed the certificate forgery case filed against Uba by one Uchenna Nnedi.
But, documents seen by Pulse, showed that the inspector-general of Police, Ibrahim Idris ‘stopped’ investigations into the certificate forgery case against Uba.

In a letter dated August 30, 2017, IGP Idris had ordered the Deputy Inspector-General, Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID), H.M Dagala, to transfer Uba’s case file to him “without any delay”.
A move, Graylaw Solicitors, alleged to have scuttled investigations into the matter.
"Surprisingly, instead of allowing the FCIID to carry out their investigation to conclusion, you decided to scuttle same by ordering DIG Dagala to stop investigation forthwith and forward the file of Senator Uba to your office,” the group said in a letter to IGP Idris.
"Following the receipt of the letter written by your office, the investigation ceased and Senator Uba stopped honouring police invitations. You also retrieved all the case files and investigation reports relating to Senator Uba's case,” the letter added.
The group of lawyers, on behalf of Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum (ACIF) have also issued IGP a three-day-ultimatum to explain his role in the matter.
Calls put across to Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood for a reaction to the allegation by our correspondent went unanswered at press time.
