Valentine’s Day: Men buy lingeries for lovers

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  observed that most men  in Ikorodu axis of Lagos State  on Wednesday  were buying lingeries for their partners.

Aside  flowers, chocolate and heart-shaped cards, lingerie became  the most common classic gift on  Valentine’s Day in parts of Lagos.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  observed that most men  in Ikorodu axis of Lagos State  on Wednesday  were buying lingeries for their partners.

NAN reports that lingeries are women’s undergarments or sleepwears, especially,  when designed to be visually or sexually alluring.

Some of the shop owners told NAN that they were  surprised at  seeing male customers demanding for pants for their lovers  very early on Valentine’s Day .

Mrs Lara Oni who operates  a lingerie shop in Sabo Market,  Ikorodu,  said there was a massive patronage from men who came to buy women undies.

“I opened my shop around 7 a.m.,  and to my surprise, three men came in at once demanding for sets of bra and pants.

“Each of them  bought goods worth N25,000  from me, “she said.

Also, Mr Adaraloye Tunde,a dealer in female night wears said many men had patronized his shop on Wednesday’s morning to buy sexually attractive sleep wears for their lovers.

“I have made huge sales this morning from  my wares,many men trooped in this morning to get expensive and sexually alluring  thongs and sleep wears for their lovers.”

Another dealer in  men and women undies,Mrs Seun Ogundele,  said  many underwear brands released eye-catching undies to the market during  Valentine Season.

Ogundele said that more men were fond of buying them for their loved ones than women used to do.

“At this time of the year, many lingerie brands release exclusive and eye-catching collections of undies but men’s  demands  for them are higher than women.

“I have made huge sales from women’s lingeries more  than from  men’s boxers, ” she said.

Also,a customer who pleaded anonymity  said that he used to  buy lingeries for his lover during Valentine Season.

” She appreciates it more than any other gift.

“I actually set aside some money to buy new undies for my girlfriend during Valentine Season  because I always like to see her in sexy lingerie collections on the night of Valentine’s Day.

“She appreciates it more than chocolates and any other gifts, ” he said.
