Chaios In Uniben Ekehuan Campus as ‘Hurricane Rain’ Destroys Hostels

It has been a very eventful 2018, especially for students at the University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus. As students are trying to get over the fact this is the probably the longest session in Uniben EVER. Students have been in school for over 10 months, and now more trouble surfaced in the environs and habitants of Ekehuan Campus today as a very unexpected and deadly strong wind hit the campus and rendered the hostels in ruins.

It was a day like any other, sunny, dry and peaceful, but everything changed mid-afternoon as a heavy wind hit the campus and destroyed almost everything on its part from uprooting roofs, trees, poles, etc to destroying student properties.It’s really not a funny site to  behold as it has destroyed and damaged properties of both students and local shops around some students don’t even have rooms to sleep in, the roofs were uprooted by the strong wind and let in the rain drenching the whole room. Some students have already tagged today’s event ‘Hurricane rain’.

This unusal event has generated different reactions from students, while some are very appalled by what has happened and blames the school’s management for keeping them too long in school to experience this, others are finding the humor in it and are been shared on line online.

Here are some pictures of the aftermath of the ‘Hurricane rain’ and students reactions below;
