Campus94 :
so Mr. presido, can we meet you?
Rt hon. Raphael.
: well my name is Rt hon. Ehigiator Sunday Raphael. I’m from Edo state. I’m
from a family of 5, I used to be the 3rd child, but I lost my elder
brother, so I became the 2nd child of my parents. I was born and
raised in Abeokuta, ogun state. I’m a 400level mass communications student of
uniben and the current serving president of mass communication student
association (MACSA) uniben. My dad is a retired police officer (fmr assistant
commissioner of police Lagos state), while my mother is business woman who
imports foodstuffs for resale in Nigeria.
Campus94: tell us more about your educational
background.
Rt hon.
Raphael: okay, for my primary education, I attended Alaba lawnson royal
college, where I did kindergarten up to primary 3, I then transferred to st benedict
where I rounded up my primary education. I later attended Mc job grammar school
Abeokuta, which was where I had my entire secondary school education.
…After my secondary education I found
it difficult getting admission into the university because I didn’t make my English
language on first trial...
I’m a very
determined person- rt. hon. Raphael.
After
secondary school due to difficulty in gaining admission into a university, I
enrolled in a diploma course (law) in Lagos state university (Lasu), at my last
trial at o’level I finally made a b2 in English, after which following a
successful utme, I was admitted into uniben to study mass communication.
Campus94: so
you are currently the president of MACSA, please tell us more about your
political career and how the journey as being so far.
Rt. Hon. Raphael:
Well my
interest in politics didn’t start in uniben. Back when I was in LASU, due to
the fact that diploma students weren’t allowed to run for any student office, I
stayed on as a political observer. From since my 100level in uniben, I’ve held
different political positions. While holding these positions I made a name for
myself among both students and staff members, for being a fair man who defends
the rights of students.

Eleco(SUG)-
300level(the only ek city stud to hold that position)
As the
electoral commissioner of the SUG, I played my part in giving ekehuan campus
its voice in the SUG, the issue of being marginalized was breached. I was also
in my time as eleco increase ekehuan campus SUG representation from 4 to 8.
Also the first parliamentary session in ekehuan campus was also held in my time
as the eleco. The thing about me is that I love to serve and play my part in
defending people’s rights.
Most people
had expected me to run for the position of the assistant secretary general
(ASG) of the SUG, immediately after my tenure as the eleco.
…I didn’t run for the office of the
ASG (SUG) because I didn’t see any need in running for the post…
Rt. Hon. Raphael
(president, MACSA).
I felt my
department, masscomm needed me more, so I ran for the office of the president
of macsa where I felt I can help correct the problems of Macsa, I’m seeing to
the rebranding of MACSA.
