Nelson Mandela's Grandson Arrested for Allegedly Raping a 15 year old Girl

The grandson of Nelson Mandela, Mbuso Mandela has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at a popular Johannesburg restaurant in Greenside last Friday.

The spokesperson of the alleged victim’s family who spoke to the Daily Sun said the teen had gone to the toilet and Mbuso went ahead to grab and rape her inside one of the toilets.

Upon learning of the alleged rape, the girl’s father reportedly attempted to open a criminal case but was intimidated by Winnie Madikizela, Mandela’s bodyguard.

Madikizela apparently asked the girl’s family to give her family time to deal with the issue.

‘Instead, Winnie’s bodyguard went to the family pretending to be a cop,’ said the girl’s family spokesperson. The father was told there was no need to arrest the suspect but when the father asked to see his badge, he didn’t have one. It turned out he had been sent by Winnie.’

Gauteng police spokeswoman, Mashadi Selepe said a case of rape was opened on August 14 and the 24-year old suspect will appear in court in the coming days for a bail hearing after he was charged on Monday
