2. Corn
This is another popular street food that Nigerians love and enjoy eating. Whether roasted or boiled, you will always find Nigerians patronizing the sellers. Sometimes, this street food is combined with coconut or pears which is locally known as Ube. This street food could be filling and highly satisfactory when eaten. Corn is rich in nutrient and the smell of the fresh ones would always inspire you to try having one.
3. Fried yam or Dundun
Fried yam is another street food Nigerians love. There would always be a seller around you; students save their pocket money to buy this food when they close from school.
The sellers often fry pepper and vegetables to sell with this food. It is a delicacy you will enjoy when it is served hot. It could be addictive once you have a taste of it.
4. Akara
Nigerians love buying this food whether they are in their cars going to work or at home. Some families save themselves the stress of having to go through the trouble of making it when they could buy in the street. Akara can be eaten with bread or with Ogi (pap). The older folks in the society buy this street food and eat it with Agidi or cold pap.
5. Suya
Virtually every Nigerian fancies buying this roadside food. This mouth watery delicacy is made from beef or chicken which is seasoned, roasted lightly and garnished with onion and sometimes cucumbers. Even though some Nigerians are skeptical when it comes to buying food, they cannot help eating suya.
6. Gala and Lacasera
Nigerians love eating this snack, it is one snack that sells more on the streets than in shops. Gala is better enjoyed when it is taken with Lacasera or any other soft drink and can be eaten anywhere without you feeling messy.
7. Puff puff
There is no time this snack does not sell; whether it is in the morning or evening, this street food will always be bought. It is made from flour and could be filling when taken with soft drinks.
8. Plantain chips
This crunchy snack is enjoyed by many Nigerians. It could be eaten on the move or while you are at work. This snack is made from either ripe or unripe plantain as it is enjoyed by most Nigerians and sold in almost every part of the country.
9. Moin-moin
This food is made from beans. It is a popular street food in Nigeria as most people love buying it. It could be eaten plainly or combined with bread or pap. Either way, it is a delicious food that is rich in protein.
10. Rice and sauce
There are some roadside food vendors that would never disappoint you with their pepper rice. This food is always packed in coolers and set up in strategic positions on the roads. Once you get to like a particular food vendor’s sauce, it may be hard for you to break free.
